this week's simplicity tips

Oh my! I have completely forgotten to post this week's simplicity tips from My Simpler Life. This week has been the craziest and busiest ever for me. So, for those of you who left messages in my cbox asking for more personal updates, I'll get back to you with more, I promise hahah! Also, I'll catch up with your tags in a wee bit. I lost a few pounds because of my toxic schedule and looks like I took some weight loss pills because I never lost this much weight in a week's span. Anyways, here's your weekly dose of simplicity tips from My Simpler Life, we still have time to catch up over the weekend right?

I'm doing number 1, I have a huge purchase which I need to return. tsk tsk. bad bad. Next time, I purchase something big online, I should check out reviews about it before getting one.

1. Evaluate recent purchases, can you return any?
2. Build your life around what you have been called to give the world.
3. Can your word be trusted?
4. Think of some simple solutions to a nagging problem.
5. Decide not to look for what’s wrong in a person, situation, or thing.
6. What are the 5 most important things in your life right now?
7. Let someone be "right" for once.
Have a good weekend everyone!

too many social networking accounts...

I've got tons of social networking accounts and I hope they won't invent some more after Facebook and Plurk. Honestly, I am getting tired checking on all of them, I guess it is just too much online life sharing, if you wouldn't count my blogs (pa!) hee.

I am listing down my most visited social networks and will delete the last one.

  1. Friendster -check, because almost all of my friends are there.
  2. Twitter -check, to maintain traffic for my blogs and also my virtual sahmmy friends are there.
  3. Plurk -check, to add traffic to my blogs despite the fact that I only have 5 friends LOL! I wish my twitterbuddies move to Plurk soon!
  4. Facebook -check, because it is easier to locate long lost friends and classmates here. Also, easier to stalk on people LOL!
  5. My Space -cross-out, will delete this. I only opened one to get in touch with my US-based cousins (and check on 1 particular cousin hahha!, manang ate kasi ako) and now that I am here, buh-bye MySpace.

How about you? Care to share how many social networks did you sign up?

In the meantime, check out this hilariously witty entry of Jessica Zafra on Social Networking.

Honestly, I am regretting on naming my son, Ethan. Had I known we are moving here, I wouldn't name him Ethan. Imagine you calling out your son's name on an arcade, themepark or community pool with 10 or so Mothers, major kenes! This happened to me 6x in my mommy life here.

And yes, Ethan has been consistently the number 1 popular American Boy's Name for 5 years now! Yada yada yada!

Lastly, why do they always have to invent the best versions last. Say for instance: Friendster and MySpace, the better version is Facebook. Plurk is the better version of Twitter. Sigh.

this week's simplicity tips

This week's simplicity tips from: My Simpler Life is something to really ponder on. I can only think of 1 person with regards to tip#3. You see, when I talk to this friend of mine all she ever tells me are criticisms of other people (sometimes she haven't even met!) and she makes it sound like a joke. At 1st, I am laughing at it but sometimes her "hirits" are just too way below the belt. I mean nobody's perfect right? and making fun of other people has never been right. I am still mustering the guts to tell her that I am not enjoying what she has been telling me and that I want to hear positive views from her from now on. Have a good Monday everyone!

1. Forgo recreational shopping for the month.
2. Let the phone ring this evening.
3. Avoid criticizing for 48 hours.
4. Relax at least 15 minutes at lunch.
5. Toss or file any old project folders.
6. Check your emotions before eating.
7. When you are enjoying something lock out thoughts of to-dos and negativity.

new new new!

I said I'll stop at my 5th, but no! Blogging is truly addictive and therapeutic for my homesick moments. No one can stop me, so I made my 6th! (which has more updates now). I hope to see you all there, sharing with me your cooking and baking tips or probably even your secret recipes and kitchen gadget wishes. Welcome to my kitchen in the blogosphere! See you all there.

sayang... (part 2)

Another horrible performance of Amy Whine (este) Winehouse. This time she nudged and punched a fan. tsk tsk. True enough, all the drugs she took are going up on her brain. Sayang talaga tsk tsk. Watch her Nelson Mandela disaster performance 3 entries below.

banjing-banjing

I've been such a lazy cat the whole of Saturday. All I did was wallow in my bed and watch TFC all day including a payperview of Pacquiao-Diaz fight. Woohoo! He made it again!

I realized I deserve some lazying up after all my hardwork and THIS. But when I saw my tasks, I've got 9 left and tomorrow will be the 1st day of my summer class., the lazying up is not really a good idea tsk tsk. All because of grabbing too much eh! Don't have I time to breathe?

sayang...

Why do people with so much talent waste their time, money and throat on drugs? Sayang super! I hope she'll get help before it's too late and we'll all just meet her at the crossroads.

party poPPer!

Finally, a SOLID reason to close down the Embassy Bar.

according to a text message to PEP:

In a text message received by PEP at 9:48 p.m., he said (published as is): "We are currently investigating the incident (a fist fight that occured this morning) alongside the Taguig city mayors office. After we sort out the incident and file an official report to the police, which we are doing now as we communicate, we intend to reopen. Right now, Embassy Cuisine, Cafeteria and Members Only are all open."

and HE IS feeling vindicated at this moment.

some updates...

CROCS!

SANUK!

this week's simplicity tips

Despite the fact that we were not able to move in to our supposedly apartment, this alone is not a reason to have a grumpy week ahead. Like I have said in that entry, it was easy for us to forego that apartment and we didn't wanna dwell on it. It's definitely part of God's plan. We trust Him with that. Anyhow, I would want to start my week right and is sharing these tips from My Simpler Life. (i'm doing number 5!) Let's promise ourselves that we will all have a good week. Happy Monday Everyone!

1. Slow down and savor one meal.
2. What is important to you in the next month?
3. Play with one of the things you want to learn this season.
4. Bring your music outside and enjoy the evening.
5. Use a full lunch hour.
6. Have breakfast for dinner.
7. Make your own popsicles and save money.

laziness.

Still catching up on lost sleep. Will get back with your links updates, memes, comments, and cbox messages tonight when I resume my full blogging mode. For the meantime, you can read updates HERE. Hope you all had a good weekend!

seriously...

....considering this haircut and color hihihi! (a bit darker lang though...)

But, before anything else I need to lose 10 lbs to have a body that would match this haircut.

Kayanin ko kaya pareho? ang magpapayat at magpaiksi ng buhok LOL!

i have a story to tell about this bag.

I have a story to tell about this LV Monogram Canvass Eva.
While hubby and I were doing some comforters shopping at JCPenney, a petite girl which looks to me, age ranges from 12-14, was hitting the ground with that bag! I think she was throwing some huge tantrums because apparently her mom didn't brought her shopping at Hollister (hihihi tsismosa ako). My goodness gracious! Super kawawa ang bag as in --and her mom. I think she was a spoiled (rotten) brat. She should be very grateful that at her young age, she was already able to own a luxury bag, which looks like brand new to me(and not hand-me-down from mommy). Oh well, what can you get from a teener who usually care about their OWN self most of the time. God save that LV Canvass Eva tsk tsk.

so UNtrue.

Snagged this from Kelly while I was looking for some quick fillers hee! I was surprised with the result because I have been really stuffing my body with a lot of unhealthy food for the past weeks. I need to munch endlessly while I finish some school papers. I know I gained weight with all the eating anxiety that I have been experiencing. So, I was so scared to check my weight today before taking the quiz, but surprisingly, MY WEIGHT IS IDEAL. Hmmm, I certainly disagree with this. If you should see how thick my waist is right now, naykupo! Anyhoo, I am still busy and will get back with all your comments, cbox messages and memes over the weekend. Toddleloo!

Your Weight is Ideal

Your BMI is 21.9 - a healthy BMI falls between 18.5 and 25
Congratulations, you are the perfect weight for your height.
Even though you may not be entirely happy with your weight, you are healthy.
So gain or lose a few pounds if you want, but don't go too crazy!

Don't agree? Blame the government standards we based this test on!

Steven Curtis Chapman's daughter Maria

While I was surfing on some school girl costumes for hubby's cousin, this is what I saw: Steven Curtis Champman's 5 year old Daughter, Maria dies in a tragic accident. It was very hard for me to decipher all the other happy events that happened before the tragic accident. Apparently, Maria's brother's SUV was the one who killed her while he was doing some backing on the driveway. You can click on the link for the whole story and here's a blog made in memory of the very energetic and free-spirited, Maria: in Memory of Maria.

I Will Be Here(Steven Curtis Chapman)

Tomorrow morning if you wake up
and the sun does not appear
I will be here
If in the dark, we lose sight of love
Hold my hand, and have no fear
'Cause I will be here

I will be here
When you feel like being quiet
When you need to speak your mind
I will listen
And I will be here
When the laughter turns to cryin'
Through the winning, losing and trying
We'll be together
I will be here

Tomorrow morning, if you wake up
And the future is unclear
I will be here
Just as sure as seasons were made for change
Our lifetimes were made for these years
So I will be here

I will be here
And you can cry on my shoulder
When the mirror tells us we're older
I will hold you
And I will be here
To watch you grow in beauty
And tell you all the things you are to me
I will be here

I will be true to the promise I have made
To you and to the One who gave you to me

Tomorrow morning, if you wake up
And the sun does not appear
I will be here
Oh, I will be here.

this week's simplicity tips -an AI diversion

Yes, I am still up. I'm suppose to wake up Hubby by 4am so he could finish some reports for work. I'm afraid that if I sleep, I won't be able to wake him up at 4 nor will he be awaken by his alarm clock, so I chose to stay late and so far I am very unproductive hahah! I have been surfing on blogger templates while chatting with Abie in between.

Anyhoo...Everybody knows by now that David Cook won the AI. I don't want to be a party pooper nor a spoiler so I waited for Thursday to post it. But, I guess you might have seen the results while you bloghopped or in some of your YM buddies' status.

On a lighter note, it's been a while since my last simplicity tips taken from My Simpler Life. So I opted to post it this week even if the week's almost over. I needed to simplify my very cluttered life now. My small brain is finding it very hard to decipher how I would be able to accomplish these tasks in 2 weeks or at least before 1st week of june:

  • Write 2 research papers with 30-pages each. I haven't started anything yet, I need to feel the panic and cramming so my brain would work.
  • Updates on my beauty blog.
  • Our apartment move logistics, thus, more packing.
  • Budget in excel as well as my paidblogging earnings monthly excel report.

How? Got any ideas? Tell me.
For now, let's settle with these simplicity tips: (#1 keeps me inspired)

1. Declutter 30 min and feel the extra space.
2. Schedule your TV hours, don't just "see what's on."
3. Let go of an old resolved problem.
4. Get one on one time with someone by taking them when you do errands.
5. Where are you overworked? What can you do about it?
6. Disconnect from the internet for a couple work hours and see what you can accomplish.
7. What visual clutter distracts you? What visual pieces inspire you?

It's 3:41am and I have 19 minutes more to blog. Off I go to my Working Blog.

on Bagsbuy.com & Piperlime

How was your Mother's day celebration? Mine was gloomy and lazy. The weather's been very bad! All that Hubby, the little boy and I did was laze around in the bedroom save for the family dinner we had to recap our Mother's Day celebration. There is a total of 5 mothers in my hubby's family here and all of them are in the 50's up. I was the only young mom, so just imagine the mommies talk LOL! We received some little goodies from the young ones and the dinner did stuff me really bad, hay naku sira ang diet!

While waiting for everyone to start dinner, I did some window online shopping, my favorite pastime these days. I am almost going to get myself a Crocs Malindi in Turquoise but there weren't any size 6! Hahahah! It was truly a blessing in disguise because if there was a size 6 and I pressed the purchase button, oh no! It will end up to be an impulsive online purchase again! Tsk tsk very bad me!

I visited Bagsbuy.com for the 1st time, Shoebuy's sister company. And I am drooling and contemplating on getting this The Sak ashbury linen shopper bag in white trim. Truly a beauty! Another sizzling Spring temptation! I am also becoming a wise online shopper by comparing prices and I was surprised to find some nice finds and cheaper prices at Piperlime.com. The hottest items in this website are the Gladiator Sandals and here are my picks!

So before you make any purchase, make sure to compare prices. If you thought Shoebuy.com will give you the cheapest prices, check the items with Endless.com and Piperlime too. Happy shopping!

sigh.

If you may ask, I still haven't finished my school paper due tomorrow!!! I just can't put my mind on it right now. I have every research info I need but I am having a hard time putting them together. For the lack of inspiration, I watched the surprise send-off video my ex colleagues prepared for me during their surprise despedida party in red box. Instead of being inspired, I was saddened, I really miss Manila! You can watch and read more about this video HERE.

INSTANT is still the name of the game.

I pressumed everyone heard about POLAROID not producing their instant cameras, if not you could read the press release here: HERE. Yes, they have closed down all their Film Plants all over the world and have ventured in the digital camera world. I cannot totally relate with the mourning of Polaroid Instant Camera followers as I never owned one and was never a fan of the printed Polaroid pictures, they would turn out to be sepia-like after sometime. But since, I am currently doing a paper on it for my assignment due Thursday, I am sharing their big shift but still keeping the name INSTANT in their mission!

See what I mean: (This is total innovation Under Total Control! Astig!)

From THIS:

to THIS: POLAROID i834 Digital Camera

and this: Polaroid Pixie Digital Camera for kids

and THIS IS AMAZING: Polaroid INSTANT MOBILE Digital Printer, you can still have printed pictures instantly anytime, anywhere. What's nice about this is you can hook it up wirelessly to your camera cellphones via Bluetooth and print pictures from your digital Polaroid Camera thru a cable. Again, this is a-m-a-z-i-n-g!!!

INSPIRED: while doing a research paper on Polaroid hee!
