Project Beauty

I got this from May of Wifespeaks. She's right, let's all hope for an English Version of this.

Home cosmetics counter on the DS.
Come November, female owners of Nintendo’s DS handheld (or chaps who dig cosmetics) will have a chance to recreate that department-store beauty-consultant experience at home when Sega launches an unusual piece of software that dispenses advice on looking good.

The ¥6,090 Project Beauty package includes the program and a camera attachment for the console. As you may have guessed, the latter analyzes the face of anyone gazing into it, while the software works out what color of eye shadow might work best. As Sega has produced the title in tandem with Shiseido, we can only hazard a guess at what kind of cosmetics it’s likely to recommend.

so true...

very true.

After Dove's real beauty campaign ad, here's comes The Body Shop. I hope more and more companies follow this trend and I hope they sell this kind of barbie to little girls too. Hee hee.

ALMOST DONE.

IT'S ALMOST DONE. I just need to upload photoshoots pictures and other make-up related pics in my flicker account and http://vanitykit.com/ is all set. You can now visit the site as it is already up and running. Read how I landed to be a pro make-up artist and what's the story behind the birth. of this Beauty Blog. See you there!

coming soon...

Just a little tweaking here and there and some sleepless nights at stake. I am going to post when THIS will be ready for public viewing. This month, promiseS for the NTH time hee!

For those who want to link THIS up, go ahead. I will not request for ex-links though. THIS will be a form of some kind of real passion release on my part. Since the move, I have stopped doing this and attended to more important roles in my life. When THIS is done, all of you will be informed. Hoping for the same reception as this blog receives from everyone of you. Till then.

REMINISCING 2007...

ULTA vs SEPHORA

As you all know now, I am a pro make-up artist but on hiatus eversince I got here. Lately, I barely put make-up on myself, just a dab of NARS' orgasm multiple stick and some lipgloss, I'm all set. Everyday I jot down all the make-up ideas I think of so if given the next opportunity to have that photoshoot beside my mommyhood duties in this part of the world, I'm ready. Make-up is the sole reason why I watched America's Next Top Model every single wednesday! I perfectly know how to make wonders through brushes! Models are not necessarily pretty and they don't usually have the best skin in the world. So give credits to the people behind the tube most especially the hair & make-up crew!

During our Cali-Vegas vacay last year, I sat foot on my newest beauty haven in this other side of the world. I was like a little kid visiting some candy store. SEPHORA was a really must-stop shop for me.
However, from where we are there is no nearby Sephora, just ULTA. For one thing, I don't like ULTA as they don't carry as much brands as Sephora does and the artists are not as accomodating as Sephora's artists are. I was sooo happy to see SEPHORA inside the newest JC Penney in the nearby Williamsburg which I blogged HERE.

FOR THE RECORD: This is the 1st time I post a photo of myself in this blog and probably would be the last lol!

i swear...

I will never be like her when I grow old. No matter how overly obssessed I am with the colors pink and purple and how experimental I am with make-up, I won't ever ever, I swear LOL!!!

ANTM cycle 10 winners and premiere

I was soo waiting for this Cycle and here's what I have to say about the premiere show.

I was a bit disappointed at first because it was full of catfights and screaming girls! Not to mention that I find the school-theme-set-up a bit Hogwarts-imitation corny lol! But then again, as the show ended, the girls personalities get more interesting. I already have my top 3: I am booting for The girl who undergone circumsion in Somalia, the girl who graduated from an Ivy League school and a girl with the prettiest face! Let's see if I change my mind.

Here is a sneak preview with screaming girls! LOL!

AND Here they are the ANTM Cycle 10 Winners! and oh yes, make-up does a lot of wonders! Ahem! and I guess some finishing school too LOL!

this week on WIFESPEAKS.

It's my turn to introduce the topic on this week's WIFESPEAKS I WANT series. Of course the topic holds dear in my heart: [TOPIC:I WANT THESE COSMETICS]--You guess it right, so here goes:

So, you got that makeover you've been longing for. A perfect hair and luscious skin, all maintained by your stylist and skincare products. But, what happens when you have to attend some important events in your wifey lives, you can't always go to a salon and have your face made up by a professional make-up artist, do you? Wifeys are required to know a little knowledge on applying make-up and you need some basic make-up kit to use for this kind of events. We all want THE cosmetic brands that are truly reliable, wouldn't leave you with skin allergies, would last long, and easy to apply. Care to share your cosmetics wants wifespeakers???

Go ahead, drop a comment (in the readerspeaks) and say your piece, we want to know your make-up wants.

not for winter

My make-up artists/friends, Val, Harold and I are big fans of Burt's Bees products. We find their lip balm a girl's lips staple. However, it failed me this winter season. My lips were chapping, bleeding and cracking with this lip balm until I changed it with a vaseline and alternately with a cheapo unbranded lip balm. So I guess these Burt's Bees lip balms are not for winter season afterall.

what fun make-up!

I just arrived home after a photoshoot with a VERY very nice Brazilian model named Fabi, which ended at 2am! We started at 8:30pm and finished 7-9 pegs in 6 hours, whoa that was fast, considering that we were kinda low in energy from 11pm till the end of the shoot.  Mind you the layouts were not ordinary, they're major pegs again! Each of them! My favorite was how we turned the very elegant Fabi into Lolita, the lollipop lover!!!

It was I, who requested that we do the shoot that late, because our kotsecar and my brother's are number-coding, oh yes both of them, ang saya di ba!  So the least I could do was to be chirpy and not complain even a tiny bit.  Eventhough the entire time, I wanted to watch Gretchen Baretto's guesting in deal or no deal and finish reading my interrupted YES magazine-Pops' revelations!

This is the 1st time I've done a face of a foreigner, meaning not mixed-race or half-filipino&half-whatever but pure pure as in PURE Brazilian! But boy was she the best person I've worked with (buti na lang!).  No qualms, no complains, very very professional!  And to think she was a professional model and celebrity/actress back in Brazil.  We were practically playing and having fun on the set the entire shoot. When we were done with the last layout, instantly Mark, the stylist and I played with the props and grabbed the photographer's pro cam and took our photos, hahaha! What fun! Fabi's husband was laughing just by watching us and even volunteered to take our photos. My oh my I'll surely miss working with these 2 wacky and creative minds, Rhea (the photographer) and Mark (the stylist).  Hay nako naka arbor pa ako ng black newyorker jacket kay Mark! Salamatski!

Shoutout to Rhea, (I know you are silently reading my blog, LOL!) email the pics na soon!  Hyper na hyper pa ako at this hour! Must be your jelly worms and nerds!

Here is mark taking his new role as the photographer and I was his mowdel.

=============
Yesterday, I was privileged to be invited in the exclusive TV and Film make-up workshop conducted by Paul&Joe's Chief International Make-Up Artist, Craig Ryan French! held in Ascott Hotel (formerly Oakwood).  I was star-strucked and Harold was kilig na kilig hahah! He really was goodlooking and reminded us of one of the Fab 5 of queer eye...  His tricks of the trade were never been heard before. The glueing of skin in the eyelids was a show stopper talaga! Ganito kasi yun after putting on the false eyelashes using a surgical glue, yes you heard me right---a surgical and not spirit gum(i've had bad experiences with spirit gums!), put a little more glue on top of the skin and then pull out or kinda stretch more skin to be glued overlapping another skin, dilat na dilat ang effect ng mata!

We chatted with him every opportunity we get and ate snacks with him in 1 table! He is the kind of make-up guru I look up to, very down to earth, doesn't name the celebrities he's done and wanted to share how he can change one's outlook in life thru make-up.  That's my idea of the real power of make-up that every woman can be whatever they want to be thru the make-up power.

MAJOR!

MAJOR was the expression that model, Carol and I discovered during last monday's shoot.  We kept saying "This make-up is major, ibang level na ito!" ~~~talking about the avant garde-psychedelic-fleur make-up I made on her which took me almost about 3 hours to finish.

I have been referring clients to my make-up artist cousin-in-law, Ribbon and friend, Harold, since I can no longer commit myself on weddings and debuts for next year because of the move.  In one of my conversations with Ribbon, she asked me how in the hell I got into make-up and why pursue this path and not the culinary and baking per se, since I grew up helping out in my mom's bakeshop and catering business.  I asked myself too, why?  Maybe, I witnessed how exhausted my mom was and how she just wanted to rest in most special holidays because the bulk of orders are bigger at those times.  Although, lately, I find myself experimenting different soups, sandwiches and pastas.  I've been considering on enrolling in Heny Sison's 1 day workshop on Waffles, Puffs and Crepes.  Or maybe her  workshops on different muffins as I've been wanting to beat those SONJA's cupcakes LOL!  Grabe these cupcakes sobrang phenomenal!

Hay. But you know what, I'm happy I have make-up for an outlet.  I love how photoshoots and make-up bring me to a different world.  Once I hold my magic brushes, I'm lost in my own little world!!!  This is my real passion which I would never ever let anyone take it away from me.

As usual here are the teaser pics from my latest shoot, still waiting for the avant garde shots from my genius photographers!  Happy happy joy joy!!! comments please =P

effin tired. effin happy.

I lost 2 lbs from the stress caused by Pareng Egay last night!!!

After a very challenging wedding make-up service yesterday, I told our driver to drop me off to the Mall of Asia so I could buy the Elianto 10-bright-colored-eyeshadow-palette for my photoshoot on Monday.  We were there only for 30minutes as I have been aware of the traffic and typhoon awaiting us.  And I was effing tired and hungry with a very very unbareable migraine!  I only ate a burger and sat for like an hour (in the car, on the way to MOA) since 9am!

So we got off MOA at around 5pm and drop off my hairtstylist somewhere in Pasay, then back on the road by 5:30 pm.  The horrible thing happened, we were on the road stranded with flood and traffic going back to sucat for effing 4 hours!!!

Hay nako!

I kept telling my driver that I might have lost around 5 lbs because of stress.  My head and stomach were alternatingly aching the whole time.  I was deadly worried because 1)i just borrowed the car from my mom and 2)we passed the other way that my dad told us not to pass as there might have been some floods in that area!  Good thing though coz my driver is the most cheerful and most optimistic driver one could ever have during that stressful ordeal.

True enough, when I woke up today I only weighed 119 lbs!!! I lost 2 lbs, I was 121lbs yesterday LOL.

So that would be a total of 9 lbs in 1.5 months of daily workout and no rice!!! Yipee!!!
From 128 lbs, I am now 119 lbs!
I still have 9 more lbs to go before I reach my ideal weight!!!

Yey yey! Discipline is paying off, finally.

Last night, I was thinking if this passion is still worth it, both the physical and emotional stress are really unhealthy sometimes.

I AM SOOO BACK!!!

more photos from the PHOTOSHOOT!

they're the hottest models in the west coast!

that photoshoot.

I just got up from sleep after yesterday's 11-hour photoshoot, we started at 2pm and ended at 1am! I did the hair&make-up of 3 models with 4 layouts each. I'm not soo good with morena beauties and I can say that beauty make-up is my forte, but this shoot was such a breeze of fresh air.

While I was waiting for the driver to pick me up, my little Ethan was tinkering with my make-up traincase and started blabbering: "coror bu, coror white, coror red, coror yeyow, coror green, coror owange" hahahah!!! He got me inspired.

Here are some of the teaser pics, still waiting for the rest of the pics from the photographer. Enjoy!

1) A Photoshoot on Wednesday and
2) Scubadiving on Saturday!!!
