Beginning the start of the year, our son has been invited to a lot of children's parties. It's like every week we had to attend more than just a couple of kiddie parties. Although, I try to decline parties held on Sundays because that is the only time we could catch up with our household errands and of course, bond as a family. This Saturday, he is invited to a cowboy's party and this Stetson Hat is something he could use.

Whenever we are on the road so early in the morning and all the huge trucks are out, I wonder how much the salaries are for these truck drivers. Then, dear hubby would tell me it's just similar to regular drivers, but I doubt. They should be paid more because of the hazard of their jobs. More than the ability of being able to drive such huge vehicles, I also believe they have to have gps for trucks because of the distance of their travel.

As I was going over my Google Reader feeds, I found out these Drop Down Deals, particularly these 2012 hsn coupons. These coupons might try to tempt my self-control but then again, I realized I had to stick to my New Year's goal which is to cut down on my online shopping so instead, I marked all the shopping feeds in my reader as MARKED READ ALL and proceeded to other stuff. Photos from Golden Globes awards night flooded my feeds and I cannot help but share Jessica Biel's photos. She really was a stunner that night, truly the love is glowing in her face. I bet she'll make a lovely to Justin Timberlake.

The year 2011 had been a good year for me and my family. While there were both ups and downs, I am overwhelmed by the number of endless blessings we received last year. Not only were it a good year for me and my family, but also to my friends. In fact, one of them just got promoted in this engineering firm in-charge of making Prototype SMT Stencils, (I know too technical of a term) and we are all happy for his promotion and career growth. I just wish that this New Year, 2012 will be a good year, if not better for all of us. Have a blessed year ahead to all of you.

I was telling a friend that they should take advantage of the beautiful weather this weekend, not too hot, not too breezey, just right and hop on to their ATV. However, she told me that they need to change their ATV Tires and would cost so much. So like us, they are on a staycation. You would actually discover how beautiful your neighborhood is when you decide to stay at home and explore the simplest yet most beautiful surroundings you already have.

Do you ever notice that sometimes we get to turn into a Christmas Grinch because we get too caught up with the Holiday Rush and eventually make us very stressed out? I am fortunate that I have DS as our son because he constantly reminds us what Christmas truly is. Everyday, he would remind me to buy Baby Jesus a CHOCOLATE birthday cake on his birthday/Christmas day. Then the next time, he would ask me if I have already gotten Jesus' phone number because he wants to sing him a Happy Birthday song. So never mind if I would not be able to fit in my size 2 party dress and accept that this plus size party dress would actually look better on me. That, and I should stop stressing on the fact that I would not be able to buy all of the items in my Christmas wishlist this year nor would I be able to send out gifts on time because after all these Holiday Rush, we should smile and celebrate the birth of Jesus. More Savings, Less Purchases

Halfway through this year, I have already made a promise not to purchase any more purses for at least two years. It is a self-imposed purse-shopping ban. I just want to declutter and focus on the more important investments in our young family. Today, I have learned that 2 of my friends also made the same goal for 2012, I guess it would be easier to commit to this goal when you have friends who share and support your plans. I also want to include make-up and shoes in this shopping ban but I need work shoes for women and other staple everyday make-up. At the end of this 2 year-shopping ban, I hope to have more savings.

No matter what age we are, opening our presents under our Christmas tree has always been the most exciting part of Christmas. While I try to keep my EQ high by waiting for Christmas morning to open my presents, I always end up opening them as soon as I received them hee hee. One of the things that I received was an eyelash growth product. I find it odd to be getting one but I to tell you the truth more than being puzzled, I am excited to try out the product next week.

When we bought our HD TV 2 years ago, it came with a free digital converter box that would allow old analog TVs to be converted to HD and viewers can watch high quality digital TV broadcasts for FREE. Had we known about this, we would not have given away our old analog TV. I guess I better just put this on my ebay account and open it up for bidding. I just do not know if there would be someone out there who is willing to buy it as most people have already converted their TVs to HD.

I'd like to think of myself as someone who has finally turned to become a sensible shopper from being an impulsive shopper. Maybe that or I have become such a picky shopper because for the past months, I realized my shopping purchases have majorly lessened in number. Also, before I could even buy myself a new pair of shoes, a purse or even a lipstick, I would think about it for weeks. I do not know what happened along the way. Even when there are sales during the Black Friday weekend, I ended up sticking to my Christmas list and not getting tempted by huge sales and discount. I just think that whenever I decide to buy something, I want it to be a long-term investment, something that I can still use even in my golden years such as this Betty Barclay collection. Thanksgiving Weekend Recap

I cannot believe how fast time flies, especially this year. As if it was just yesterday when we were preparing for our New Year's eve menu and then this week we had to rush up cooking at least 4 dishes for our Thanksgiving feast. It was a meaningful Thanksgiving weekend, capping it off with some loots from the huge Black Friday sale. Mostly, the loots that I bought were Christmas presents for the kids in my family and of course my godchildren. While DS helped me picked out gifts for the male kids, I had a good time choosing girls toys. There really is a child and this is ignited whenever I am inside a toy store. However, had I seen this site, Deals Direct, I could have just stayed at home all day and shopped online. I guess the remaining items in my Christmas list have to be shopped online because the lines are getting crazy at the mall during this time of the year. That, and I find more discount deals online than in stores.

My 1st grader is making us very very proud. He recently got a special award for the 1st quarter of the school year and that is the Super Star Student Award. Then during the PTC, his teacher mentioned that he really is developing serious leadership abilities and skills, hmmm, I bet he got that from his dad hee hee. Another good news is the fact that his drawings are improving. In fact during their Seasons project, his story book was so detailed that he include crabgrass killer, different kinds of flowers etc... in the Spring page. Speaking of flowers, don't you think these floral purple lamp is lovely?

How careful are you when it comes to administering medication to your family members? I am very careful when it comes to giving them over-the-counter medicines. As much as possible I try to avoid giving my kid, especially, OTC drugs. However, when these medications are prescribed by a physician, I give my full trust and just follow whatever the doctor asked me to give my son. So when I read about this article on Crestor lawsuit which involved the medicine, Crestor, an anti-convulsant used to treat epileptic seizures in children and adults, as well migraine headaches, I realized that we are not spared of medicinal side effects. I have been very sick since Monday. The sudden change of weather caused this nasty colds and cough which led to fever (I hope this will not lead to flu!). First, it was DS who got sick over the weekend and I guess whatever virus he acquired was passed on to me. I think I need to drink more citrus fruit juices and water all week long so I could attend one of these garmin golf courses.

I have been religiously writing a Christmas countdown journal entry since the 100th day before Christmas. Then, I realized that even if I do this, I still do not feel any Christmas spirit in the home. Probably because we have not started decorating our humble abode with personalized christmas ornaments. We usually buy our fresh tree right after Thanksgiving, however this year, I am planning to put it up a week before Thanksgiving. I heard some parts of the East Coast have snowed this early. At first I thought it was all just a false weather prediction until I saw photos in Facebook, yay! Thank goodness we were not one of these cities affected by the early snow fall or else my Bumblebee would be so grumpy being unable to go trick or treating yesterday. This made me think whether I should update our emergency bags especially after reading this article on underground shelters.

We were at Best Buy yesterday checking out laptops and PCs as our PC and Laptop have gone dead, yes, I am currently blogging on our very slow netbook hee hee. I was so surprised to see the huge discounts on samsung led tvs as well as the computers and laptops considering that we are just a couple of months away from Black Friday. DH said it is because it is the end of season and electronics would usually showcase their new models by October. Sadly, Macbook Pro never goes on sale and that is what we plan on getting as replacement for our laptop and PC.

It was a rainy, chilly and very lazy weekend for us. We initially planned for some leisurely activities but the weather just stopped us from pursuing our plans. Instead of having a full weekend spent outside the home, we ended up staying at home after the anticipated mass yesterday. I was busy uploading and organizing photos while DH was busy with his latest shelves project which would house all of DS' Transformers collection. However, in the middle of putting up the shelves, he realized he does not have micrometers so you know what happened next? We all snuggled up in the living room and watch countless of DVDs hee hee.

When we were still deciding on what DSLR camera to buy, DH highly recommended that we get a Canon. I was gearing on getting a Nikon because of my friends' raves and actual photos. However, DH seems so lucky that he was given a Nikon DSLR by his boss, but I wanted my own. It was a good timing as my friend was selling her old Canon DSLR. Knowing the current rate of canon slr cameras, I had to grab her offer. To my surprise, I have learned to love Canon shots over Nikon shots. And yes even my digital p&s is also a Canon!

I really like how Facebook would help me locate my long lost old friends. I know that many of my friends do not update their Facebook as much as possible but they would always reply to our email exchanges. Recently, one of my highschool friends posted (privately!) photos from the bridal shower they threw for me. Her main reason was for us to be inspired to get thin again, whoa! It was really funny reminiscing those days when we get to joke about garter belts for women (nope, we do not own nor wear any of this kind of lingeries hee hee) and other bridal shower silly stuff. Oh well, I really hope to be at least 15 lbs lighter before I turn another year older next month.

I thought I had enough of the scorching-heat-migraine-inducing Summer season but not. For the past 2 weeks, we have been getting a relatively colder breeze. Around 60s-70sF. One morning on my way out, I was swiftly hit by a chilly breeze, then I realized we haven't bought a fireplace mantel, even DS' winter jackets need to be replaced because he has gotten bigger and taller. Yes, I am officially dreading the Winter Season and I really hope Summer or even Fall, last a little longer than expected.

Biking the Summer

I always thought that running is more effective than biking when we talk about losing weight. Apparently, I am wrong. You see, since the beginning of the Summer season, DH and I have been running while our couple friends went biking. They even invested on a yakima bike rack while DH and I got ourselves good pairs of running shoes. But voila, after our get-together last weekend, they seemed to lost weight more and what about us? Oh never mind, we're getting there hee hee.

What does it mean to be a foodie?
I used to coin this term so many times before without knowing the real meaning of it. It is said that for you to be called a Foodie, you should be someone who has an ardent or refined interest in food. Hmmm, I simply love food and eating but not anything close to being an ardent fun of food nor do I have a 'refined' interest in it. I do not even meticulously check on restaurant equipments such as their used bar equipment, table set-up etc...

So yes, I am not a foodie.

I admire telemarketers for their perseverance but I sincerely hope that when they are told that we (as clients) are not interested, they would stop calling... but, not!

You see, late last year, dear hubby went through every cheap life insurance agent in the country and asked for their quotations. From then on, we have been receiving so many random telemarketers who would leave us long voice messages! Argh! I swear I have to deal with them every single day.

One of our goals this year is to get a second car that would be utilized by me. Well, I guess, DH had finally given up on all of my transportation needs that we both decided, a 2nd car is needed. While we planned on getting this car towards that last quarter of the year, I noticed DH talking to a lot of car agents for the past few weeks inquiring about car title loans, upgraded car insurance etc... so I guess, I should be ready and driving by the 3rd quarter of the year.

A childhood friend slash ex-grade school classmate slash current neighbor has decided to give up her nursing career. She used to have a successful corporate position but since she really loves to be part of the medical field, she decided to take up nursing degree. After 2 years stint, she gave up her nursing position and decided to take courses on dental assistant. She said that it takes so much passion to be a nurse and it was stressing her out. I hope she made the right decision because she has been spending so much resources and time on this new career path. I rarely had pimples when I was in my adolescent years, nor had I ever experienced a severe acne. However, as I aged, I notice that when it's the time of the month for my period visit, I usually turn to hormonal acne treatment because of this one huge pimple that comes out on the same place every single month. I am just glad that when my 'monthly visit' is over, the pimple subsides and eventually would leave my face. Weird huh? I guess, that's what you call, a hormonal acne.

I had the luxury of time to catch up with some of my favorite TV series but for some odd reasons, our DVR won't work so I just decided to watch TFC and chanced upon Dr. Vicki Belo's weekend show. She randomly mentioned a power skin product that fights aging. She seemed to sound like these veralyze reviews because of the way she stressed out the fact that as soon as we hit our late 20s, we cannot avoid those age spots because of sun damage and yes, regular facial movements including laughing, hello crow's feet. But according to her, we must be able to find 1 product that covers everything (moisturizing, anti-ageing and miracle cream), hence the power product. I think I believe her because based from experience, I find it tedious to apply/layer too many face products and in the end when I am too tired, I just wash my face and skip applying anything at all. So whatever power product works on your skin, make sure to stick on that regimen religiously and you'd be assured to age gracefully.

Beautiful Saturday

It was another beautiful Saturday. We capped off the day with a short stroll at the beach, a quick bite at Ben&Jerry's and grilled lambchops and steak at home in our balcony. It is very rare that we get to eat in our Balcony because I have developed pollen allergies but this day, I braved it and so far, no sneezing happened. It was also a good time to share to DS what me and his dad love to do and play when we were kids as this topic always makes him curious. He never believed that me and his Uncles used to have stacks of billiards supplies and a billiard table inside of our room. Yes we do, it was a gift from our mom. Surprisingly though, I do not know how to play billiards anymore.

May has always been our busiest month. Ever since, DS was born on this month, we always end up getting busy running errands, planning celebrations and yes, taking our most awaited trips. This is the main reason why I have not blogged for quite a while now, almost 2 weeks to be exact. I barely have enough time nor energy to put my thoughts into writing. Even our DVR is loaded with my favorite shows and I have been having a hard time catching up. Thanks to this converter box as we can now convert some of my fave tv shows into DVDs and reload the DVR with new shows. I guess our schedule will be back to normal come July when most of our trips have been made already. I know traveling can be fun but it can also be very tiring especially when you like routines like me and doesn't want to be disrupted hee hee.

And yes, speaking of May 1, today we celebrate DS' 6th birthday weee! This is the reason why I was up so early doing some online tasks as we have a long day celebrating his birthday. That and we have to prepare for the logistics of his school party tomorrow.

My wish for him is to grow up with needed resilience, strong faith, wisdom and continuous good health. My wish for myself, that I finally shed off the pregnancy weight at least before he turns 7 next year hee hee. I think I just need to take a drink of these natural colon cleanse beverages to help me get rid of those unwanted flabs.

I may not have serious case of cellulite, thus this cellulite treatment won't be advisable for me to take but my tummy have lose skin from pregnancy not to mention extra huge flabby flabs. My upper thighs seem to be fighting gravity all these years too.

Today, I realized that I really need to watch what I eat. I have to remind myself that this is not all about dieting but changing my lifestyle. During the 2.5 hours chit-chat with my friend, C yesterday, she shared that you could actually lose 2 lbs everyday if you stop taking carbs/starches/sweets (fruits included) after 2pm, yes and not 6 pm. So what do you take for afternoon snacks and dinner? Salad and steamed veggies! That's what I did last night :P.

Oh and yes, Water has become my bestfriend these days.

I pray for consistency on this newfound lifestyle.

How was your Easter weekend?
Boy oh boy, I can sum it up with 3 words, EAT.SLEEP.SWIM.
We also helped a neighbor with his disability appeal letter before we left for the beach.

It was a refreshing Easter break and finally after 46 days, I ate rice with lotsa meat again, not to mention soda and chocolate for my dessert :P. Oh and did I mention that I also skipped junkfoods during the whole Lenten season so I capped off my Easter Sunday with movie marathon along with bowls and bowls of Cheetos and Lays hee hee.

Did I just say I need to lose 10 lbs in 30 days?

Ok, diet shall start tomorrow :P.

In exactly 30 days from now, our first batch of visiting friends are coming. They would be our very first visiting friends for the year and 3 weeks after that, another couple friend are coming to visit us and the rest of the year, we'd be expecting more relatives and friends. Now, that only means 1 thing, lots of photos to be taken and I have no way to hide my Winter fats through this set of hip hop clothing, I must shed at least 10 lbs in a month's time hee hee. Yes, two more days and DS will be on Spring Break. We might not be able to avail these Outer Banks vacation rentals but we have better plans in mind. Have I mentioned that DH and I have been going to the gym for almost 2 months now? However, we got so bored that we changed our exercise routine to Running! Yes, we've been running for at least 30 minutes, 3 times a week at DS soccer field. We would run while DS is on his Soccer practice/games. I guess, this is the right exercise for me because I have already lost 4 lbs in a span of 1 week. I just need to take the best calcium supplement so my bones can sustain all these running.

Oh boy, I am still unpacking. The husband left for work, yes on a Sunday. He had to catch up with so many things when we were on our 5-day vacation last week. Speaking of, I had a good conversation with our friend, K with whom we stayed during our Windy City vacation. He wanted to know if we were willing to join him in his Boston and other business trips as they come with Indiana Pacers tickets and Milwaukee Bucks tickets. Aw! What a sweet guy indeed.

Last Friday, the weather was so beautiful that we stayed late outside of our homes. We originally planned to just buy food storage kits but we decided to drive some more and who knew, we got home almost midnight already. Yes, we were strolling around in our shorts and flipflops!

I would always choose running or jogging over hitting the gym and sweating it all off with a gym equipment. But when you live in the neck of the woods such as ours, for sure you would love the sight of Gym because it can be too cold to run outside.

Running has been my first love and when we moved here, the first place I visited was the city park to see whether it is a good and safe place to jog, well it is. Now, you know why I have the energy to try my very best to lose weight naturally rather than taking usp labs pink magic.

Like in any convo, I would always encounter questions from friends on the best way to lose weight fast. I would ask the same question too over and over again.

A dear cousin asked her Facebook friends whether it is wise to get a new iphone 4 or just wait for the iPhone 5 coming out this Summer. I did not reply because you see, I am not really into gadgets and I am just lucky to be given such and such gadgets (my iphone 3gs, dslr, laptop, netbook etc...) by dear husbo and sometimes my closest friends and generous siblings. I used to speak highly about the convenience that netbooks bring but after owning one in purple, yes I just had to emphasize the color hee hee, I would say that I will no longer invest on one. Why? Today was an exhausting day. DS was feverish that he had to skip school and yes, an extended holiday leave on my part. I have no idea as to what causes the fever because he has no colds nor is he coughing. I think we need this dehumidifier, I am suspecting that the air at home is not as fresh as it seems to be and yes, it is dry because of the centralized heater. Finally, I visited the weighing scale this morning and guess what, I lost 4 lbs this month. Nope, I did not take any diet pills nor have I been consistent with my workout routine and calorie-tracking, it is because today is my 6th day of Spiritual Fasting and Prayer. Tomorrow will be my last day and Thursday will be my 1st official day to eat normal food again. I promised myself to take it really slow, I wouldn't want those 4 lbs back again! yay :P.

My mom would always tell us not to spend a single cent on the first 2 days of the year and minimize the spendings on the rest of the 1st week of January. I guess that's a Feng Shui practice. So let's all buckle up our pockets and realize that New Year's celebration does not mean spending so much, we have another year ahead to be financially wise and not dwell on those payday loans and other financial assistance. Being frugal and spending wisely should be a normal practice especially for those who were badly hit by the economic crunch.

My face is officially dry and full of red rashes. Must be too much time spent outside, hence the dryness and this new foundation I tried which caused the rashes, yes, I think I was allergic to it. First, we have not started putting out our christmas decor as compared to last year, around Thanksgiving, we already have our Christmas tree. Yay! I finished 3 photobooks in a week. My son's Birthing, Christening and 1st year albums were all checked out in my Artscow cart. I can't wait for them to arrive. DH and I have been missing one of his BFFs, G. He has this very good collection of cigars and we would often give him cigars-related stuff during Christmas. G is not into social networking sites and would prefer snail mails and long-distance calls. I really find it very touching whenever we received letters from him but nothing beats seeing him in person. I hope that his visit next Spring would push through.

I recently found a very elegant layout of personalized greeting cards. The problem is I think I deleted our Photoshop software and our epson printers are still busted. I might just order ready made christmas greeting cards where I could insert our printed photos. Hmm, I was really disappointed because I have already set my mind to giving out personalized greeting cards this holiday season for a change.

It is the time of the year when we need to review our Medicare part D plan. For the past 3 years that we have been here, I am just grateful that none of us got sick, I mean we get to have the occassional flu and colds but nothing really serious. But then again, we must make sure that our medical insurance are up-to-date just in case we might be badly needing it in the future (knock on wood) so before I fully turn on my weekend mode, let me check Allsup.com.

They say the last 5 lbs are always the hardest to lose. I am a classic example of that and now, I am beginning to pile up the lost 10 pounds again hee hee. This cold weather has been giving me unnecessary cravings and after reading these lipofuze reviews, I realized I need to slow down with my food intake. After all ,I worked hard to get to where I am now. Hmmm, self-control is the key, I may say.

By this time, I may have mentioned more than a hundred times how O.C. I can be. That if given a document management job, I would take it by heart. Seriously, my passion is in organization not of events but of things particularly home stuff and documents. However, there are days that I would just laze around and will not care about the clutter around me. I guess that is the highs and lows of being an O.C. person.
