cooking off!

By now, most of you have been frequenting my food blog which I am tremendously enjoying as it is the most updated of all my other blogs. Anyways, as much as I want to Cook off some seafood dishes, I can't most of the time. You see, seafoods here can get so expensive and comes out unfresh. A piece of milkfish here costs 5 dollars and it's not even the large size huh. Anyways, as I was looking for some new seafood recipes, this is what I saw: Great American Seafood Cook Off. It is said to be one of America's largest culinary contest which will award 5 recipes and 5 chefs from all over the country. Their main goal is to spread the "positiveness of domestic seafood sustainability”. I am quite excited on the top 5 winning recipes and I bet you, I'll be a follower of this contest.

ultra-light feminine tops

I was telling hubby how much I miss shopping! After having chatted with my Mom and she raving to me the good finds she got from shopping the other day, I realized I haven't really shopped for myself for quite a long time now. Because, even if I do, I just can't see any occassion where I will wear my shopping finds. We rarely go out and if we do, I just need to put on a shorts, capri or a nice plaid cut-offs and some plain top. But, let's see what I can grab from GAP online, of course. Online shopping is my best preferred shopping method these days. Ain't they all summerish? I like I want I gotta have!

High Vista Coupons

I have a lot in my hands right now. One of them is to order personal checks for my and hubby's joint checking account, we ran out of cheques and we do not want the regular type the bank has now. Also, hubby's Aunt wants us to look for designs for her business checks. You see, this Aunt-in-law of mine has so much belief in our taste, really, no kidding. Sometimes it is becoming too over-acting. haha!

I chanced upon vistaprint while looking for customized designs and whoa! I had a blast choosing designs for our personal checking account instead. You can even customize the design. All you need to do is upload your design and voila, they'll have it printed for you and wait for it to be delivered in your doorstep. Just enter your account information to easily re-order cheques. It is Safe, secure ordering and just by adding 99 cents, you can add your icon and monogram design. I tell you that is quite a deal as their rates are very competitive and surprisingly cheap. This is one of the things I like here, because back home they don't offer customization of both personal and business cheques. We gotta order one now. Yey!

break that skin spell.

I just have to share this. I wonder, maybe I should change my template as this blog is turning from fashion and meme blog to a medical, health and fitness blog hee. Seriously, after the cord blood blank, this I gotta share. I chanced upon this website which talks about Dr. Chantal Burnison and her pharmaceutical company. Generally, it talks about the the breakthrough skin-rejuvenating molecule, Ethocyn. Ethocyn is claimed to help men and women reduce the natural effects of aging on their skin’s appearance or more clearly saying that Ethocyn helps in combatting wrinkles! I mean there are a lot of other skin care products that claim they are anti-wrinkle treatment but this Ethocyn seem like to have a scientific explanation to back up their claims. To know more about it visit www.ethocyn.com.

cord blood bank

When I was pregnant with my son, my obstetrician-gynecologist had these pamphlets on Cord blood bank. I remembered scanning a few of them and somehow had a gist on The Value of Cord Blood. Hubby and I are not really for it as it was quite new at that time and it was really expensive. However, I have always been hearing about Cord Blood Bank particulary that of Cryo-Cell. Generally, Cord Blood banking is used for Treating Diseases with Stem Cells. The Umbilical cord stem cells are known to treat 70 diseases, including leukemia, anemia, lymphoma, diabetes and cerebral palsy. In the United States, 30,000 people a year are diagnosed with a disease that can be treated with cord blood stem cells. According to Cryo-Cell's website:
"By the year 2015, there will be 10,000 cord blood transplants world-wide per
year using publicly banked cord blood."

Cryo-Cell claims to be one of the world’s largest and most established family cord blood banks with over 150,000 clients worldwide. I guess in the future this will be widely popular not only in America but also in other parts of the world.

network solutions

Information technology had become a part of our daily lives. Even the small and medium businesses need information technology to get things done. They need to do this in order to be competitive and known in the global market. Even hubby's aunt's small time laundry business has begun to hire 3rd party resources to manage her clients database and finances. When I was helping her out look for a reliable 3rd party IT consultant, I chanced upon networksolutions. com where they focus on enhancing network solutions careers. This site has a host of free resources to help small and medium enterprises/businesses who wants to develop their domain. They also give advices and important information on how to better manage domain registration needs, solve problems related to selling and marketing online, creating a Web presence, and using security certificates to protect customer information and to guard against fraud. There are featured webinars and seminars which explore issues such as pay-per-click and search engine optimization techniques, and provide practical knowledge about strategies, tactics, and solutions for marketing online. Actually, even if you do not have business but wanted to optimize your own personal blogs or domains, you can lear a lot from this site. So better visit them now at networksolutions.com.

dresses for the pretty tots.

Since a number of my blogging buddies and friends are on the way with their 2nd bundle of joys and majority of them are carrying baby girls, I thought of posting these cutie dresses. Whenever I shop for mini-Stripe, I end up clicking the girls page. Oh how I really hope and pray that my 2nd baby will be a girl. We are not yet ready to have another child, not this year or the next, maybe in 2010.

a cure for cancer?!?

We are all aware that cancer is a deadly disease and no matter how hard we pray for its cure, there will always be a remission stage. The mom of a dear friend of mine has been diagnosed with breast cancer a year ago and it was all good. All of a sudden, I received an email from her that there might be a suspected remission as the doctors have found water in her lungs. Hubby's dad died of cancer at age 58.

I chanced upon Resveratrol as the widely speculated cure for cancer. This is the 1st time it will be tested publicly. If you have cancer or your relatives have cancer and wanted to know more about this "cure", join the resveratrol forum for more information.

this week's simplicity tips

Sorry for the late posting, this came on Monday but my Monday was such a blur. Anyhoo, here's this week's simplicity tips from: My Simpler Life and I am seriously doing number 7 after working (and studying) so hard the past months. I needed a break, after all. Happy Tuesday everyone!

Sunday.

The remainder of our Sunday was spent lazing over some gizzard meal Hubby prepared. We were having a feast day while watching THE BUZZ (haha! I love AiAi's outfit!). During the night, Hubby and I were moving boxes. These boxes are new sets of balikbayan boxes that are to be sent home. I was happy seeing the boxes being filled. Tomorrow the courier will pick them up and in 30 days, my folks will receive them. Just in time for my Dad's birthday. Oh I miss them sooo much! I hope the boxes will compensate our absence. So much for being so apart from your loved ones. Sigh. I gotta hit the sack now, I swear I blogged like crazy!

my diet files

Since I made public my Food Blog, a couple of friends asked me this question: "does Apidexin work?"

Honestly, I cannot vouch on diet pills as I haven't tried them myself. In fact, I usually discourage my friends from taking them. No matter how slow my weight loss would be by adapting weight loss program the natural way, I would never join the bandwagon and purchase myself some diet pils. I am just scared at the thought of it.

Anyways, here's sharing a weight loss program, I share with my friend: VAL. You can read more about this HERE.

EXERCISE: A minimum of 30 minutes/day (only during busy days) and a maximum of 1.5 hours/day. This would include cardio and muscle toning targeting problem areas. My problem areas include my tummy and upper thighs.

MEALS

BREAKFAST: (6:00-8:00am)
OPTION 1: oatmeal (plain, with milk or sliced fruits), a cup of coffee, tea or orange juice.
OPTION 2: 2 slices of toast with light butter, jam or cheese, a cup of coffe, tea or orange juice.
OPTION 3: --->can only be eaten 2-3 times a week: egg (unsalted but can use spices/garnish), 2 slices of plain toast, a cup of coffee, tea or orange juice.

LUNCH: (11:30-12:30 nn)
1/3 cup of rice and 1 viand (preferably not friend)
soup or stew with a slice of bread
pasta (non-creme based sauce pls!)
WATER WATER WATER!

DINNER: (7:00-8:00 pm)
Salad (oil and vinegar-based dressing ONLY!)

will you have one?

When it comes to botox in Chicago, I heard that Park Ridge Botox is one of the best in that area. I have no hesitations on getting one when I'm old and grey. But as much as possible I don't want my face being poked and injected with foreign objects. So as early as now, I try to moisturize as much as I can, eat less oily food to avoid this artificial method. But if the time comes and I need one (and I have a budget for it), I wouldn't mind at all. Well, I am saying that now but the big question is when I have the money for it and I really need it, will I have the guts to see those foreign objects being injected in my face? I don't know hee.

my mom has it, imma gonna have one too LOL!

My mom was so happy to announce that she got an electric purple Sony Ericsson W380i. She was raving to me on how good it is. I surfed on it and guess what, I am jealous! My goodness! The features are to die for and most especially the color! Haha! Anyways, she promised to get me one when she comes here for a visit.

Made for music - Walkman® on top.
The W380a reacts to the touch of your fingertips. Music buttons on the outside of your phone let you play, pause and skip track. And when you want to listen to radio, just tune in.

steel toe shoes

One of hubby's Uncle works for a bottle company. He gets to do rounds on their production department. Since, those places are dangerous and are very hot, he wears steel toe shoes whenever he checks on his staff in the production. Every time he goes home, he has fascinating stories of his staff working at the production. He said all of them sport different designs of working shoes. But generally, he's a huge fan on shoes. You should see his shoe cabinet, I tell you he can challenge every woman shoeholic with his shoe collections, they're he has tons in every color and design.

I did not know that Boating Operating Under the Influence is really a serious matter until I watch that video above. The boater may think that he or she may harm themselves only but the marine life is gravely being harmed too. If you are a boater, make sure to take responsibility and do not operate your boats under the influence.

Good Sunday Morning! I had a terrible night last night and now, I am so guilty just by thinking about it. I got so hard on my little boy because he doesn't want to sleep (at all) last night. We all had to sleep early because we have a long day today. Hay the perils of pagiging ina. So here I am blogging early in the morning.

Power of Prayer

I did this prayer tag a few days after the MV Princess accident. But, I am doing it now after Mich forwarded it to me. Looks like we need more prayers as this issue hasn't been resolved yet. Let's all continue to pray to all the victims and their families. Passing this on to Aidisan, Val, Juliet and Kathy.

Prayer for the MV Princess of the stars fatalities and survivors.
Dear God, we pray that you comfort each bereaved family everyday as they grieved for their loss, we pray that you will supply all their needs, we pray for the survivors

what to do on Sunday.

Yey, I caught hubby checking out Busch Gardens' website. You see, when our son and I went there the other Sunday he was busy with something else and therefore he missed the fun. But I've got 2 more extra tickets and I assumed we're going back this Sunday. However, when I asked him, he has something in mind. He wants to try the paintball center in Hamptons! He said he missed sporting the red and blue paintball gear he used to wear when we played paintball back home. Now, this is a tough choice! Busch Gardens or paintball. Where do we go on Sunday? Yay!

not!

Eventhough I love the LV Brand, I think these shoes are too much for me (as if afford ko!). But even if I can afford these, I won't be caught wearing them. These shoes will definitely fall into my category of brands-screaming-stuff-and-therefore-not-my-type. I swear (I use this word so much!) I'd die being so conscious wearing these. But, I bet they must be really comfortable to hump in. Don't you think?

Amish I like.

I have mentioned in my main personal blog that hubby and I were shocked with the prices of home furnitures here particularly that of mattresses. A decent mattress with spring mattress can go up from $800. While memory foam mattress and other types of regular mattresses ranges from $400-$2000! We bought the mattress already but we still do not have a bed frame. Good thing I chanced upon The Bedroom Space because they currently offer discount bedroom furniture. They claim to be the leader in providing quality bedroom furniture for the home at the best prices anywhere. They carry brands of top products from a broad range of manufacturers including Henkel Harris, Klaussner, Pulaski, Kathy Ireland by Standard, Modloft and many others. Their choices are actually a lot which makes me hard to choose. I just don't know how much they would charge me for the shipping, if it's beyond our budget then it will offset the discount. If this is the case, we would just grab a bed frame in the nearest furniture store. But, it better be soon because I often get dizzy when I sleep on a mattress only probably I got used to the high bed we used to have.

I Scream Ice Cream series (mint & real strawberries.)

Yesterday's trip to grocery and Asian market was a schock. We exceeded our very practical budget and we didn't even fill up the cart! Hubby and I stared at each other when the cashier has finished punching all the stuff we bought. I made sure to take most stuff that were on sale. We were even able to grab 5 big cans of Delmonte Spaghetti (four cheese and garlic/onions) at 50 cents each. We just assumed that most of the food commodities prices have increased, blame it on the escalating gas prices. When we were at the Asian Market, we had to forego our fish and beef because the prices were skyrocketing!!! We are settling on veggies, pork and chicken for these 2 weeks.

Instead of having 5 half gallons of Edy's, we only got 2! And here's our flavors for the next 2 weeks: Mint Chocolate Chips and Real Strawberries.

migraine.

I noticed my headaches (or should I say migraine) bouts are getting more and more often. I had to take a short nap this morning because I feel very light-headed and a bit dizzy. It's weird because I have been sleeping earlier than usual. Could it be the new set of vitamins I have been taking or I need new eyeglasses from ZenniOptical? I see they are now being recommended by Clark Howard Show. Despite the cheap rates, they are really making it good out there in the market probably because the quality of their eyeglasses are still intact. Fox also featured them, by the way.

Anyways, going back to my headache bouts. Hubby said these must be caused by spending too much time infront of the laptop and my eyes are the ones badly affected by it. However, I have another thing in mind. I don't want to make assumptions just yet but could it be that I could be pregnant? Oh c'mon I always tell that to myself every end of the month hee and it never happened. Baby #2 is not on our plans but if it comes, so be it, we welcome blessings! Still, this dizziness and light-headedness are just getting unusual tsk tsk. I'll keep you all updated.

AE's model...

Kamukha talaga siya ni Heart Evangelista, I swear!Do you remember this post? Eversince, I have been following this AE model. I hope she's half-Asian (at least) if not half-Filipino. I find her beauty really simple but very natural. You see, I have this thing for American Brands who feature Asian Models after the Tommy Hilfiger scandal. Then again, it happened to Hollister when they declared that their tees are for Westerns only. So when my cousin and I saw this Hollister modelling in one of their branches in Vegas, we were surprise to find out that they feature an Asian model. Hmmm, change of times?

I guess if you want your brands to be global, forget racism and think global. Peace.

the answer is in the payday loans

When will these gas prices stop from going up?

I was watching Balitang Amerika the other day and a group of Filipinos from California are complaining about their situation, some were even on strike because they seek for higher pay. Times in this side of the world are really hard, but my Mom claims that this is a global crisis. No one is spared from this crisis. Some shops in the nearby commercial building have been closing out and hubby said the fastfood business is also affected. People would just eat at home rather than dining out.

No wonder, many would turn to Payday Loan Fast because it is the easiest way to replenish those empty wallets and save many from their unending bills. Let's all pray this would end soon.

tarps and more.

In my opinion, farmers in this side of the world, are the richest people. I spoke with someone during my California trip and he told me that the silent millionaires of U.S. are the farmers. He was able to convince me in the end and I was even surprised to find out that the person I was talking to has 4 major farms in the southern California. I swear he looks so humble. I only figure and asked him more about his job when he told me about his newly purchased semi trailer tarps from Agri-Cover, Inc. Oh well, that's what I like about living here, you can never distinguish the big difference of society classes here.

full pantry and fridge.

It's monday and we were off to the grocery as early as 9am! We bought loads and filled the pantry and the fridge, most of them were snacks of the little buy. But we were surprised with our bill! A frikkin' $250!!!!! Yes, I am not kidding. I guess they have some price increase due to the fluctuating economy. But, then I made sure to get those on sale, so how come?!?! Oh well, maybe we bought some unnecessary snacks like buying 2 gallons of Edy's, 2 months stocks of mini-stripe's snacks and lotsa pasta mix LOL!. How did your monday go?

Happy Monday everyone! I have a lot of things to accomplish this week but guess what, it' just Monday and the Lazy Bug hit me! I feel sleepy, sluggish and tired. I won't ever buy those junkfoods again and I will diligently go back to doing my exercise routine. Anyhoo, here's this week's simplicity tips from: My Simpler Life.

1. Show gratitude to someone who serves you regularly.
2. Notice someone doing what you want to and praise them.
3. Give thanks for the services as you pay the bills.
4. What do you want more free time for?
5. What can you give up for the rest of the season to make time for what you want to do?
6. Schedule at least one fun thing to do this week.
7. What important task have you been avoiding?

football fridge

Last week, hubby came home with 2 dozens of soda in can. My son is a Soda Addict at age 3, that is why we try not to stock some soda at home. However, those 2 dozens were given, so who are we to refuse. As you all know, I have been trying to cut down on my food intake to shed off excess weight, thus SODA is a no no to me. But, how could I resist such cold cold beverage especially in Summer. The 2 dozens were finished by end of this week, I drunk as many as I could so my Son won't be seeing them anymore in the fridge. Last week, I chance upon this Football Fridge, isn't it the coolest thing to keep those soda cold while travelling? I want!

refurbished PC.

If you are on a look-out for an affordable PC or laptop, you can check out refurbished PC from perfdata.com. I have seen this refurbished AS/400 and the price seems right for the deal. This site also provides iSeries and i5 customers with a reliable source for diverse, hard to find, new and refurbished midrange hardware and to assist with issues ranging from simple device address cabling problems to complex system tuning and troubleshooting assistance. I think refurbished PCs are way better than used personal computers because usually these PCs were used only for display purposes. Check it out now.

i want my mama!

After weeks of having no bouts of homesickness. I suddenly miss my mom. I want to watch this movie but it would be perfect if I watch it with her. I remember how we're both excited when we watched The Devil Wears Prada 2 years ago. I think this is a perfect mom-daughter movie. Oh well, I guess I have to set this aside for now and reserve watching this (in DVD na lang) until my mom comes over to visit us. Sigh.

car for me?

Hubby and I had a long talk this morning about him getting a car for me. I personally want (and need) to have one but up to now, I still don't have the confidence to take the driving test here. In the end I told hubby that it's not practical for us to get a car for me, because aside from the monthly car amortization we have to pay, we also have to think about the pricey car insurance which is not part of the car's amortization. Until I get my driving license here, I will remain car-less.

i do not know basic CPR.

Hubby is Red Cross certified while I, took many trainings under Red Cross because it was part of the series of trainings my previous employer offered. Still, I never learned CPR the right way. Or should I say, I refused to learn them because I did not realize there was a need for me to learn basic CPR at that time. Maybe, I should take those CPR AED training courses from National Paramedic Institute. Afterall, I could use this very basic but very important First aid knowledge on my small family. What about you, do you know the basic CPR?

word combination, easy.

Again, whoever invented this is a genius. How many times do we forget our combination number locks? Or our numbers become very predictable (read:birthdays, anniversaries...), with this you will not forget the combination because they're easy, they're words! Check out Wordlock.Com for more products and colors!

web design.

My Realtor Aunt called me up and requested me to check on her website. She even asked me to design her logo and reinvent her website. Whoa! I may be internet savy but I do not know a single thing on creating websites. I referred her to this Los Angeles web design company (www.352media.com) which has Web development production offices in Atlanta, Georgia and Gainesville, Florida, and our Web design company sales offices in New York, Seattle, Los Angeles, Detroit, Ann Arbor, Michigan and Jacksonville, Florida. I hope they would be able to customize her website according to her taste. Will see.

still grueling mat540.

Last night, hubby and I slept at 1am, we gave up with the last homework problem I have. I submitted it incomplete, we really can't comprehend it anymore. There were problems that entail making a restaurant payroll software. I wonder why we are tasked to do this as this type software is readily available online. Say, with Decision Logic, one can easily hire their services to provide businesses in the hospitality industry (from fast food restaurants to sit-down establishments) with enterprise management solutions that make operations streamlined and cost-effective. Or I guess, a little knowledge on how these are being done would help us as we further our management careers.

Kadamo Award.

DEZ, TIN and MICH awarded me with this Kadamo Award. Thank you girls. Natawa ako ako sa spelling ng sertipikado at sa Kadamo term LOL! Passing this on to Wheng, birthday girl, Eds, Farah, Abie and Kathycot! We are all certified bloggers and matalik ko kayong Kadamo (patawa talaga ang term LOL!)

32.) YOUR BLOG

travel rewards program

I love airlines who offers travel rewards program. It saves you some trips and of course you became loyal to that particular airline. It both benefits the passengers and the airline.

I have chanced upon Bellwether Rewards as I was looking for cheap tickets for our holiday vacation on Decemeber. This site provides companies with employee and customer incentives in the form of travel rewards. Wow! I always dream of being employed in a company that offers travels as part of their perks and benefits. Unfortunately, I wasn't lucky to be in one. Despite my long stint with a diplomatic mission, they do not offer any travel benefits. I hope I find one here.

conveyors.

My bestfriend's hubby is an engineer and we used to consult him when we were planning to buy a house backhome. He was so passionate about his job that he often talks about conveyor systems. He said that Conveyor Systems & Engineering, Inc. is one of the sites that specializes in customer solutions by providing unit handling conveyors, food handling conveyors and components for various material handling applications. He always remind his clients to buy high quality, well-designed materials handling applications for cost-effectiveness and efficiency. We are glad that his hardwork and passion about his field paid off, he is doing well in Canada now.

art galleries and more.

For the nth time, I still have a long list of blogging tasks. I so wanted to finish them and blog some personal events but I want to take advantage of hubby's off days. Before we leave for some museum and park sight-seeing, let me talk about Park West Art Gallery, the home to the largest collection of fine art in the World. Hubby is a certified art lover, thus, exposing our toddler to arts and culture as early as 3 is in his plan. One of his greatest wishes is to be able to bid one of the most expensive and unique paintings in the world. I guess it will just remain to be a wish for now. TTYL, I shall blog to death tonight!

i wants!

Forget about getting myself a Phentermine without prescription to shed off the excess weight. I'd rather do it the natural and cheaper way. I'd rather put the money for the diet pill into these bags! I want want want!

For many months, I have been scouting for the perfect coach bags. They usually end up being so bulky or so small. But these 3 are just perfect for my taste. Truly affordable. I want talaga!

ABC of Fashion meme.

Fashion fade, style is eternal. --- Yves Saint Lauren

Jacqui is tagging me along. I love dolling up myself and can't wait to have my own daughter. However, when I got here, my social life was kinda put on hold save for some family gatherings which do not require dressing up. That and I also gain a hefty 5 lbs that I am so tempted to take a diet pill to shed off the fats so I could fit in my old dresses. But for now, let's forget about dieting and let me answer this. I'm tagging along: VAL, JANE, JOY, AGGIE & FARAH.

A: What accessories do you wear everyday?
>>>My two-toned 5-petal flower pendant, white gold wedding and engagement rings, watch (varies depends on my outfit but I cannot go out without one), and the white gold earrings which hubby gave me for our wedding anniversary. (also, a headband and a bag!)

>>>Medyo, hoarder ako ng toiletries. I must admit too that I'm kinda high maintenance hahah! Basta for my hair, I use shampoo, conditioner (can't live without this) and a hair product depends on the season, I have wavy thick hair kasi. For my body and skin, dove is my only soap, for body wash, olay products and of course, I can't live without a moisturizer: Total Effects and Squibb Vit. E moisturizer. I clean my face with Cetaphil. Back home, I used to have monthly facials but here, it's a luxury so I scrub my own face with scrubs (any), milk, oatmeal (sometimes) and put on a masque. I brush my teeth 3x a day. I take a bath 2x a day. During winter 3x a week (LOL!) And of course, don't forget my collection of lotions (as in!!! hoarder ito) which I spread all over my body, walang parte na pinapalagpas. Explains my stretch mark free tummy kasi masipag talaga ako maglotion kahit super init at nagmamantika na ako haha! Nasanay ako sa nanay ko na masipag mag-lotion hehe. And also when I go out, I try to put on sunblock NOW, my freckles are horrendous! Anyways, the list goes on, ituloy na lang natin ito sa beauty blog ko LOL!: http://vanitykit.com/.

spam blocker

Don't you just hate spammers? I am glad all my email accounts have spam blocker otherwise I'd be spending more than 2 days determining spam emails from not. But sometimes, the spam blockers on free accounts have limitations and are not actually 100% blocking the spams or sometimes they sort the emails in an incorrect way. Leaving us deleting important emails.

Another type of spammers that I hate are those that hacks important usernames, passwords and credit card information especially if you love online shopping, these things are so much hard to deal with. But with Shop Shield®, hackers and insiders with access to customer databases can’t steal your name, your credit card number, password or even your email address, because this information is never entered into the databases of web sites where you shop. And the companies you buy from can’t sell your information – because you never gave it to them. They simply replaces your personal identity information so you’re anonymous, and your information is secure. I think I might register with them not only for credit card protection but also to create, manage, usernames passwords, and prevent my emails from receiving anonymous e-mail addresses for any site. It's absolutely free and so there is nothing to lose for me, more of gaining my web peace of mind.

I Scream Ice Cream series (no updates.)

I realized this ENTRY was never followed through. I stopped with Edy's cookie dough haha! I still have them in my fridge, though and is making me terribly sick because everytime I look at my bulging tummy, I blame Edy's!
Anyways, this is not about my flavor of the month but something I want to buy for my ice cream delight!
Cuisipro® Ice Cream Scoop & Stack

Make delightfully amusing treats with our playful Cuisipro® Ice Cream Scoop & Stack. The scoop & stack creates cylindrical blocks of ice cream that can be decorated or stacked for a colorful and creative presentation. The ergonomic scooper cuts through the hardest ice cream with a simple twist-and-lift action. Push button release. Each scoop holds 3.75 oz ice cream. Dishwasher safe on top rack. Choose from three colors.
9.8 oz.
Plastic,Stainless Steel
So what do you think of your ice cream, in scoop or in stack?

Gas & Heat.

Obviously everyone who has a car is complaining on the never-ending gas prices. Who wouldn't?! Too bad because even if we all want to save on gas by turning off the auto air conditioning, we just can't. It's too hot outside and it's impossible to drive without AC. I hope all these global gas crisis stops soon which I doubt.

Taking Control: Future Therapies for a Host of Serious Diseases May Be Found in
Women's Menstrual Blood

July 07, 2008: 01:28 PM EST

OLDSMAR,
Fla., July 7 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- With today’s hectic lifestyle, where most women are juggling careers, family, relationships, and a host of activities, the
idea of possibly facing a serious illness in the future is not something that readily comes to mind -- especially when a woman is in the prime of her life. But what most women don’t know, is that the key to treating a number of possibly life-threatening diseases that she, a parent, a sibling or even her children may face in later years, such as osteoporosis, heart disease, stroke, Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease,
may be found within her own body -- in vital stem cells, which can now be harvested from her own menstrual blood.

Now, thanks to the revolutionary research and technology of C’elle, a service dedicated to providing women with a safe and easy method of collecting and preserving stem cells found in her menstrual fluid each month, even the busiest
woman can take control of her future, right in the privacy of her own home. With
C’elle’s non-invasive collection process, menstrual cells are processed and
cryo-preserved (stored at a very low temperature) for potential cellular therapies that may be used in the future. These self-renewing cells one day may even be used for sports medicine or cosmeceutical treatments, such as anti-aging therapies.

"C’elle enables and empowers a woman to take control of her future health, and possibly of those genetically closest to her, in a fast, painless and stress free way,"said Michelle Kay, Marketing and Sales Manager for C’elle. "We live in exciting times, as science and technology are discovering how extremely valuable menstrual blood stem cells really are, and the enormous treatment potential they represent for future therapies. C’elle’s ongoing research is supporting these promising findings."

For more information about C’elle, please call 1-877-892-3553 or visit http://www.celle.com/.
I think this press release is something important to share. I don't know the authenticity of the product but nevertheless, read it if you have time. Share it with other women in your lives.

They say women are the most targetted with serious diseases such osteoporosis, heart disease, stroke, Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease. We tend to juggle a lot of roles in our lives and the most difficult and challenging but truly rewarding is that of being a mother. Along with this, we still have other important things we need to accomplish in our very stressful life. I always think women are good at managing time because of the various roles we play in our lives.

This press release basically inform every women that future diseases can be seen in the vital stem cells which can be found or harvested in her own menstrual blood. What do you think about that? C'elle is the company service dedicated to this revolutionary research and technology which provides women with a safe and easy method of collecting and preserving stem cells found in her menstrual fluid each month, even the busiest woman can take control of her future, right in the privacy of her own home. I find this press release interesting and though I'd share maybe some of you had 1st hand experience as I find this one really strange. Have you heard about this yet? Although there are some Celle Client Testimonial in the website.

new new new!

I said I'll stop at my 5th, but no! Blogging is truly addictive and therapeutic for my homesick moments. No one can stop me, so I made my 6th! (which has more updates now). I hope to see you all there, sharing with me your cooking and baking tips or probably even your secret recipes and kitchen gadget wishes. Welcome to my kitchen in the blogosphere! See you all there.

this week's simplicity tips

Came in on a Tuesday, your weekly dose of simplicity tips from: My Simpler Life. Planning on doing number 7. Time management is still my greatest battle.

1. Turn your computer and tv off by 8 pm.
2. Do neck and shoulder stretches.
3. Plan something fun with the family that has nothing to do with electronics.
4. What movement did you love to do as a kid?
5. Pay an extra amount on your credit card or another debt.
6. Play in garden or nurture a plant.
7. Plan breathing space between tasks.

i need ZENNI.

With all the late-night reading and endless blogging I have been doing the past days. I think I need Zennie glasses from zennioptical.com. It's cheap, stylish and very feminine. Afterall, these are corrective glasses too and hoping in time I'll get back my perfect vision! (and probably apply for a flight attendant job as if!)

TWITTER VS. PLURK

VS
Just when I started enjoying My Twitter, some internet savy bloggers declared that twitter is out. Apparently the very new PLURK is the in-thing now. It works the same as twitter but with better features such as being able to see what your plurkermates are doing on real time. Have you tried this? To all my twittermates, I won't sign up if you won't haha. Happy Monday Everyone!

school ranting.

My school textbooks haven't arrived. I've ordered them 1.5 weeks ago and still, they haven't arrived in my doorstep. The class has been starting and I am missing 10%worth of credits for my homework because I wouldn't be able to submit it today. It's good thing though that Prof. Z was kind enough to move my deadline till Tuesday. I just wish the books arrive tomorrow.

missing my mom's paella

Hubby is a big fan of my mom's paella. He could finish about 5 servings of it. We tried doing it last thanksgiving dinner but still, with a pella pan and my mom's guidance over the phone, we failed to make a replica of her Paella. It did not taste that bad but I there is something missing, probably my mom's magic touch. How I wish the house renovation is over so she could come and visit us. I'm sure I'll gained weight when she's here.

Oh So Sweet Award!

Thank you DEZ for this award. As you see I am blogging like crazy this weekend and have been updating all 6 blogs I have (yes, 6! find out what's the 6th in my sidebar LOL!). I realized I have a lot of tags in line while I was shuffling some tunes in my and hubby's ipods. So here's one down.

One of girls' biggest dreams is to be able to have not only the man of their dreams but also the wedding of their dreams. I am blessed with a husband who made that dream come true. I was so proud of our wedding as we had made a lot of guests very happy. Also, every detail of our wedding were brought about by labor of love from friends and families. One thing that helped me organized our wedding and keep track with the very long to do list in Wedding Planning is WeddingChannel.com. It has every planning tool that a bride and groom would need. Which reminds me to make an account for one of my friends getting married this year.

havis on SATC

Got this from the havaianasPH newsletter: ( i tell you, ngayon pa lang nauuso ang havaianas dito at ang mahal pa ha!)

Apart from their impeccable fashion sense and eclectic style, Carrie, Samantha,
Charlotte and Miranda have much in common with Havaianas: their love for all
things fun, functional, and fashionable. And there’s nothing like an endorsement
from the fabulous foursome of HBO’s Sex and the City to seal a fashion staple’s
style status: check out Park Avenue Princess Charlotte York, played by actress
Kristin Davis, at the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week toting the Havaianas “Candy” ad in her hands.

The “Candy” ad campaign was created by Brazilian agency AlmapBBDO especially for the United States. Its special appearance on the big screen version of Sex and the City pleasantly surprised both the agency and Havaianas brand executives.

power steering pros

One of my cousins in Manila is a cheapskate. He really knows how to handle his money and eventhough he was earning pretty good, he still stuck with his old car. Until he tried the car of another cousin and saw the power in using a power steering car, he changed his mind and bought a new one. He is so meticulous with his car that he takes special care of every part even the steering rack. One time it broke down and he immediately ordered a power steering rack online at http://www.powersteeringpros.com/. Oh boy, he is not just a cheapskate but also an O.C. hee.

I know of many who are so embarassed to settle their debts because most of the time, they need to be there in person. Who wouldn't be embarrased with one-on-one debt counselling and face the humiliation as debts are not something to be proud of. But there is an Online Debt Settlement at NetDebt where one can settle their debts over the internet and avoid all the embarassment that one-on-one counselling has. If you are on a big debt hole, get your act up now and settle your debts online. For more information, check this out: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Debt_settlement.

DON’T CHEAT BY SCROLLING DOWN FIRST!

It takes less than a minute. Work this out as you read. Be sure you don’t read the bottom until you’ve worked it out! This is not one of those waste of time things, it’s fun.

1. First of all, pick the number of times a week that you would like to go out to eat. (more than once but less than 10)
2. Multiply this number by 2 (just to be bold)
3. Add 5
4. Multiply it by 50
5. If you have already had your birthday this year add 1758…If you haven’t, add 1757.
6. Now subtract the four digit year that you were born.
You should have a three digit number, The first digit of this was your original number. (I.e., How many times you want to go out to restaurants in a week.)
The next two numbers are YOUR AGE ! —— (Oh YES, it is!)

THIS IS THE ONLY YEAR (2008) IT WILL EVER WORK, SO SPREAD IT AROUND WHILE IT LASTS
