Something Purple's Detour

I am never fascinated by motorcycles. I am even against those who ride on one. I think this is the cause of having a couple of friends and a family member being hit by reckless motorcycle drivers. But I am equally amazed by drivers who join Motorcycle Tours especially those who ride on Harley-Davidson motorcycles. I want them to join these tours rather than driving their dangerous bikes on the road. You get my point? They could ride their bikes for competition's sake and not for public transportation.

I even went on an argument with one of hubby's friend who rented an ATV and Dirt bike at EagleRider. He has this amazing dream of becoming an Eaglerider that as soon as he got his long-awaited promotion he spent them by renting not only ATV and Dirt Bikes but also Scooters, Snowmobile, and Watercraft. He was planning to buy his own Harley-Davidson bike but his paycheck couldn’t afford one, instead he opted to rent one from Eaglerider. He was even telling me that if only everyone learn how to use bikes, we will be guaranteed with trafficless streets. That, I doubt haha. I am just glad that hubby is not into these things too.

Just when it is the right time to buy the Crocs Malindi I have been patiently waiting for because previously, the Turquoise color doesn't have my size and now, there is no Turquoise available in any size! I guess it isn't for me after all.

Nevertheless, I'd like to spread the word that there are a lot of other online shops going on sale until the 4th of July weekend. So check them out. And happy 4th of July everyone!

We have been staying at hubby's aunt's humble abode for almost 8 months and tomorrow we are finally leaving the place to move to our own. No matter how excited I am on living on our own and managing the household solely by me and hubby, we are leaving this house with a heavy heart. To give thanks for all their kindness and support, I am thinking of giving them gift baskets, what do you think? Do you think they'll appreciate it? No matter what gift we give them, nothing can repay their unconditional support when we were just starting to get settle down here.

Tomorrow's the day I have been waiting for, Our MOVE. It's definite and nothing can stop us not even the weather or any natural disaster (knock on wood) hahah! But, I have one more thing left for hubby to do, he should visit a door hardware and get us door alarms. There is a sliding door besides the dining area and you know how paranoid I am with sliding doors. Beside, the open backyard entrance is the sliding door. I even suggested to hubby that we put alarms on every window. Can't blame me being so paranoid living in this big city.

Happy Monday everyone. I woke up feeling very good today and feeling giddy about 2 things: our move and my 1st day of class today. I hope all this feeling good and giddy will last the whole week. Leaving you with your weekly dose of simplicity tips from: My Simpler Life.

Remember hubby's uncle who has 2 of his cars fixed and ended up paying triple with what he was suppose to pay? Yea, he's still pissed. But, after another uncle talked him in on auto body sacramento where he could find reliable and reputable experts in the field of collision repair, he's mood lightened up. He has made a decision and will have his cars fixed by them. We're all looking forward to his better mood in the days to come.

I've been following the news on the victims of MV Princess of the Stars. I've heard so many heartbreaking stories why these passengers chose to ride the ship. Most of them were either vacationing or were going to Manila to fix their papers for a job abroad or they were bound to leave for Canada, US, etc...for greener pastures. But, what happens when their families' hopes disappeared with the victims?

There had been so many no annual fee credit card offers that come our way but we are trying to be really careful in getting one these days. Especially here, where your credit standing measures your financial status. However, I have been frequenting creditcardsclub.com for their various offers. They consolidate and compare rates from different credit card companies making it easy for anyone to choose which credit card is adept to their needs. Would we get one? I don't know, we are trying to survive with a debit card and just 1 credit card. I hope we could survive with these 2 plastics for long.

I've been such a lazy cat the whole of Saturday. All I did was wallow in my bed and watch TFC all day including a payperview of Pacquiao-Diaz fight. Woohoo! He made it again!

I realized I deserve some lazying up after all my hardwork and THIS. But when I saw my tasks, I've got 9 left and tomorrow will be the 1st day of my summer class., the lazying up is not really a good idea tsk tsk. All because of grabbing too much eh! Don't have I time to breathe?

Nope, this entry won't be about Transformers' autobots which my son is going gaga over with. This is about the auto body san francisco repair shop that my friend has been frequenting. The reason why I'm writing this because I was just saddened to hear that hubby's uncle's nth attempt to have his cars fixed by buying auto body parts went wrong again. He got them from unreputable auto body shop repair store and now he is paying more than triple of what it will actually cost him. I just wish we had the auto body shop my friend is going too. This affected us in a way because I tell you, Hubby's Uncle is freaking out and I don't think we will have a good weekend. uh-oh!

Why do people with so much talent waste their time, money and throat on drugs? Sayang super! I hope she'll get help before it's too late and we'll all just meet her at the crossroads.

I woke up this morning upon hearing a very loud roaring sound. Heck, the sound came from the lake in my window which is about 20 steps away from the house. You see these hunky neighbors (oh yes despite their noise, they're reallu goodlooking) have been partying all night and seems to me they hadn't sleep and went to boating and jetskiing straight! I wonder if they took any Boating Education Online which could help combat Alcohol Related Boating Fatalities Accidents. Looks like they were being so loud and noisy! A Drag race in the lake indeed! His father told him how proud he was to have such a fine son, and told him how much he loved him. He handed his son a beautiful wrapped gift box. A friend of mine is currently in Maryland for a training. That's a nice 4-5 hours drive from where we are. I would really love to see and meet up with him but hubby is thinking if we either meet him there and pick him up or our friend avails of the car rental and drive to where we are. Afterall, there are some cool summer offers at advantage.com where they offer of up to a 50% discount on Luxury and Convertible car rentals. Rates are fantastically affordable, but then again, this friend wouldn't be really be bothered by the price as he can afford anything even a front seat Janet Jackson concert. Haha!

A very close friend is getting married this December in Vegas. I am excited because if hubby's schedule permits, we are coming over to attend her small wedding. This would be my 1st time to attend a Las Vegas wedding and the bride is someone really close to my heart. I would want to surprise her with something she isn't thinking of, unique wedding favors. You see, this friend of mine wouldn't mind if those giveaways will come out as cheap wedding favors because what truly matters to her is the uniqueness in the favors. No matter how friends talk me in about cars or Accord Radiator, I really do not have any interest on them. This lead to my unliking with driving or maybe the more apt term is fear of driving haha. But this month, I made a promise to hubby that I would definitely take the driving test here, at least the written exam for now. No matter how I avoid it, it is but a necessity to drive here. Or else me and mini-stripe will be stuck at home for the whole week. That's sad. I'll try to make that my motivation. But as I see it, it is so much easier to drive here, not only because the drivers are more disciplined but also there are lesser cars here and you'd be shocked with their speed limits. I tell you it is really low, at least at the rate on how our bus drivers in Manila are going.

I get frustrated everytime hubby is requesting for massage from me. I just simply do not know how to massage much less acquire spa jobs! It always ends up hubby teaching me how to do it. He's good at it. This reminds me of my favorite masseuse in Manila. You see, me, my mom and brother just love to treat ourselves with an hour of home-service massage at least once a week. This I truly miss as in this side of the world, services such as this is so expensive, truly a luxury. I wonder though if the masseuse here got their jobs thru beautyjobs.com because if I remember it, I used to refer my masseuse to that website when she was looking for an overseas spa job.

You know what to me is the worst nightmare of all? It is to be in a big debt hole! Although there are a lot of credit card debt help out there, financial debts are really nightmares for me. I might say that during my younger years, I was too reluctant with my expenditures that I have learned to be financially wise now that I am married. We're just few months away from Halloween and to be honest, as early as now, I am already scouting for Halloween costumes for me, my toddler and hubby. I want us all to be in costumes. For the past 3 years, my boy is sporting the same halloween costumes, YODA! Oh yes he was LOL! I was always busy around that time of the year that I haven’t had the time to buy him newer costumes. This year I promise to make up and buy his costume way in advance. You see, he just turned three and by now, he has a clearer knowledge on what Halloween is. Last year though, he was too happy with the pumpkins and was able to experience his 1st pumpkin patch in Napa Valley, San Francisco. It was our 1st time to celebrate Halloween here in U.S. But, his dad was in the east coast so he missed to witness the joy in my son’s eyes when he saw the pumpkins, different sizes and kinds. Last year, I was able to order him a pooh costume from costumercauldron.com but it arrived way too late for the Halloween night. This year, I am gonna look at the malls or be creative enough to improvise or create on if I don’t find anything unique. I don’t want the usual costumes because we had a blast seeing him wearing the Yoga outfit. When we did the trick or treat, almost every household we visited was so fond of my son’s costume. At first they won’t recognize who he was then they would eventually realize he was sporting a Yoda costume. I never was really fond of Halloween costumes and Halloween activities perse until I had my son. I realize every Halloween should be planned because they only pass childhood once in their lives.

I often see a lot of motor homes here. There is actually a big shop which is very near our place, where they have a number of motor homes for rent. I didn't realize it is quite popular here until a friend of mine told me about it. I find it strange, she and her family has been living in various Motorhomes for several years now. A lot of celebrities are going for Botox. In fact, 1 of the most famous singers was a topic on Perez Hilton's blind item. He denied that he undergone a Botox Chicago but during his last concert, it was indeed very obvious that he got one. I think there is nothing shameful to deny or hide when a celebrity had botox! After all, their looks are their investments. They should capitalize on these. And I for one, have no qualms about celebrities getting one. I would rather that they acknowledge their enhancements rather than denying them. Although, it is their right to hid these obvious facts.

If you have been paying close attention to my personal blogs, you will see that my son is such a bath tub addict. He swims on his tub 4-5 times a day while I read books for him. I guess the scorching heat has been the cause of his special liking to tubs. Hubby is on the hunt for some walkin tubs that are childproof. You see, sometimes, he accidentally bangs his head on the tub and it scares me. I hope we find a way to childproof the tubs in the townhome that we are moving to or hubby finds some child-friendly walkin tubs.

I have had a lot of webhosting counseling from my blogging buddies, some of them were encouraging me to consolidate all 5 of my domain into 1 web host. They say it would be really hard at 1st but as soon as I've learned the ins and outs of using a web host, it would be easier for me to manage all 5 of it. They also say I don't need to be really techy in order to understand web hosting. You see, I may have several domains but I do not know anything about web hosting and my knowledge on CSS and html coding are very limited. Then one of them sent me a site where I read the top 10 web hosting providers-web hosting reviews. It is very helpful for someone like me who is on the lookout of a web host. With all these furniture hunt and buying the nitty-gritty details of every new apartment, my leisure online shopping sprees have been put on hold. We have to prioritize other stuff. It's 3am and I am supposed to be studying for my finals tomorrow (or later). However, I just can't put myself to study, I don't know why. I thought of listing down some of my concerns the past days. DISCLAIMER: some are non-sense, blame it on my homesickness:

1. I forgot how it is to be treated like a queen/princess, then I realized I forgot treating hubby as my king. Tsk tsk my bad!
2. As I was watching hubby sleep tonight, I realized I was so lucky to have him. A very hardworking and patient one. I should stop my brattiness soon.
3. When will my homesickness moments ever stop?!?!?!
4. I wonder if it's easier to renew passport here than in my home country? Or am I making excuses to come home.
5. People will always think of living here as something glorified unless they have actually experienced it.

I have a couple of friends who are saving up for Wimbledon tickets. It is their 3rd time to watch the game. I have never seen such sports enthusiasts. You see, these friends were both high school tennis varsity. I clearly remembered when they asked me to joine them in one of their practice. My goodness, I will never hold a tennis racket again. I'm okay with table tennis where one time I competed with other schools but the real deal tennis game, no siree, the tennis racket is just too heavy for my weak arms. Although, I enjoy watching tennis games in the tube and would want to join these friends when they watch The Championships, Wimbledon, commonly referred to as Wimbledon. Wimbledon is the oldest major championship in tennis and is regarded by many to be the most prestigious tennis championship in the world. It is held annually between June till the beginning of July for 2 weeks ending on the latest, the second Sunday of July. So, if you're a wimbledon baby, better save up for the tickets or might as well buy one now before it's too late. My friends are panicking because it’s starting to get sold out in some seats.

I know this is nothing new but I am just happy to share that my son's pediatrician uses a drug guide for iphone. I find it really cool for a doctor to be techy when it comes to drug guides and other prescription tools. Oh yes, doctors now are getting mobile in case you do not know yet. Maybe, it's about time to phase out the traditional IMS book and rely on the drug guide on mobile phones. Considering this to be faster and more accurate, doctors should invest on a software that carries drug guide. One of the more famous software is Epocrates. Epocrates' drug guide is now used by more than 50% of doctors who own a PDA or an iPhone. So you think doctors are Untechy, well their making a big gadget trend now.

I promise myself I'm gonna get a Wii fit on my birthday this September. If no one's gonna buy me (huhuhu! cry out to Pareng Kirl and Stripe! tse!), I am getting one for myself. But I hope hubby does not video me while at it and put it on YouTube harharhar!

I love sending letters through snail mails over emails. I love shopping for greeting cards as well. If you are my friend, you know this part of me as I religiously sends out greeting cards on special occassions. I love receiving them too and the last time my friend, Chingkee sent my son some shopping cheque for his birthday, I was amazed by the mailing labels she used on the envelopes. I remember how tired my hands were last Christmas as I've sent more than 50 cards for friends and relatives. I had to write down their addresses as well as mine (because I do not have any mailing address labels!!!) and I was forced to ask for some address labels from hubby's aunt, since we're living in the same address. But, it had their name on it and I have to cut down that part. Next week, I have a week off from school and I plan to attend to some of my most neglected to dos in my list. Getting mailing labels is part of them. I've searched the net and found about VistaPrint. Despite the fact that we were not able to move in to our supposedly apartment, this alone is not a reason to have a grumpy week ahead. Like I have said in that entry, it was easy for us to forego that apartment and we didn't wanna dwell on it. It's definitely part of God's plan. We trust Him with that. Anyhow, I would want to start my week right and is sharing these tips from My Simpler Life. (i'm doing number 5!) Let's promise ourselves that we will all have a good week. Happy Monday Everyone!

They say when you are about to push 30, major changes are bound to happen. I've noticed that with myself. You see, I have barely 3 more months before I reach 30 and my body shape seems to be changing and also my skin are not as supple and smooth as they used to be. Hubby said, it's not my age, it's the hectic busy life I am currently in now. So next weekend, he promised to bring me out for some skin care products shopping which might even include an Anti-aging Cream. I can't wait!

Oh yes, the title says it, this Verona Suede Laptop bag maybe priced at par with those designer bags but this one's for the laptop only. My toddler has always been fascinated with cops! If you try to scare him if he's misbehaving by telling him "the cops will get you!", chances are he'll more likely continue what he's doing. Next to being a fireman, he wants to be a policeman when he grows up. One thing that fascinates him other than their flashy police cars are their police uniforms. He would say to me "i want that shirt mom!", I was even going to dress him up as a policeman during one of the children's parties that we're invited but I couldn't find one that would fit his size. During the search, I discovered that LA Police wear tactical gear, or those that promotes their security and would help them prevent attack from criminals. Sounds interesting huh? Honestly, I'd rather my son be a taxi driver (which is his 3rd ambition) than be a fireman or a policeman.

From the street where I am living right now, it is but normal to see walking missionaries. They visit every household and preach the good news of the Lord. I have honestly nothing against them but everytime they knock on my doorstep, I politely tell them right away that I am tad busy to be hearing what they have to say. Although, I honestly pity them because you could see them during winter and even on the hottest days of summer. The other day, I was surprised because the missionary who visited our household was offering Christian Cruises. So, I was quite interested and devoted some time on listening to what they have to say. Apparently, these Christian cruises Christian Cruises are authentic sailing adventure on a privately chartered luxury yacht that holds 170 believers. While on board and on the shore, they will be hear bible stories. The particular Christian Cruise they were asking me to join was a tour that will depart USA and visit bible ports such as Athens, Patmos, Ephesus and Pergamum. It will also pass by the ampitheatre where the Apostle Paul spoke. It was interesting, really but I don't think I have enough budget and time to join this type of cruise.

*Things are getting less busy for me. For one thing, I have finished all my paperworks for school yahoo! And remember the 40-paged paper I made (A Study on USAID microenterprise programs in the Philippines---duh hee hee!) well, it got an unbelievably perfect score!!! Double 'A' kasi may extra points for passing it 2 days before the deadline. I am so glad that my sleepless nights were totally paid off with this flying rainbow color grade haha!

*Another update, naudlot ang lipat bahay namin! Long story, I don't want to dwell on it because it was indeed a blessing-in-disguise-save-by-the-bell kinda circumstance. We are a looking at this townhome (yes townhome and not an apartment, as in with backyard and 2 floors) and we are hoping to hear some news next week. We are so ready to move, as we've packed everything already as in everything! We only heard that we are unable to move to the apartment, a day before the actual move-in date. I'm blabbing, sorry, bahala na kayo umintindi hahah!

*Next quarter, I'll take 1 subject only to give time to blogging, so expect for a daily entry or rather entries again. I'll probably come up with my 6th blog but it will be more for my kumikitang kabuhayan hahah! I'll be back on my full blogging mode next week.

For the longest time, I have been hearing a lot about Leptovox and other diet pills from a friend who lost a huge amount of weight! She has been raving how fast these pills helped her shed off those unwanted fats. I have had other friends who took some other types of diet pills but unfortunately, no matter how convinced I am at the moment, to date, I don't have any guts to take any of those pills. I am just so scared about the effects that will come out in the future. Maybe it's just me.

I wonder what happened with my friend, joy's visit to her obstetrician. You see, her baby is due to come out anytime soon. If she won't give birth this month, she might end up having a c-section because the baby is quite large. Anyways, I have been waiting for her to go online as I can't wait to show her the baby bedding I saw online. She has been telling me she needs one, maybe this is what she is looking for. Joy, buzz me ok?

It features a limestone karst mountain landscape with an 8.2 km. navigable underground river. A distinguishing feature of the river is that it winds through a cave before flowing directly into the South China Sea. It includes major formations of stalactites and stalagmites, and several large chambers. The lower portion of the river is subject to tidal influences. The underground river is reputed to be the world’s longest. At the mouth of the cave, a clear lagoon is framed by ancient trees growing right to the water’s edge. Monkeys, large monitor lizards, and squirrels find their niche on the beach near the cave.

The atolls are separated by a deep channel 8 kilometers wide.Over one thousand species, including many that are endangered, can be found at on the reef. I don't know why all these lapband surgeries are showing up infront of my laptop. After talking about my very slow weight loss and hubby catching me reading some diet pills review, a friend forwarded me an email about cincinnati weight loss surgery. Apparently, she is thinking of getting one, she said her cousins got one and had a successful surgery. I advised her though that with her current physique, she seems not to need this surgery at all.
